Oh no, I was answering you. My answer was no. I mean, I'm kind of prepared for today's podcast brainstorming session, but obviously not prepared enough for you. Oh my gosh, what are we going to talk about today? Yeah, okay.

First, I just want to get us to clear out of the way that you were not saying no, that we were not recording. So we're recording behind the scenes, strategizing our podcast, right?

yes, we are recording okay, we we typically do a monthly, like strategy session, or every two months, and we thought why? Not show you guys what it really looks like behind the scenes all right.

So what do you have going on? What are some um, maybe some questions that have come in for you?

Mary Fain Brandt: 1:32

Well, I kind of just wanted to talk about change. So we did the audio thing on LinkedIn and we had a great time doing that. And then we kind of outgrew that and we were like, okay, let's turn that into a podcast. So we turned it into the podcast Redefine your Career Journey, because we're both career coaches. But I got to be honest, you know, I work more with business owners, laura. I'm really working a lot with business owners and I get more questions from that demographics than I do career people and I feel like and I feel like you with your networking, your franchise and your business, you have so much knowledge, I have so much knowledge. What do you think if we were to pivot and like change the podcast. What do you think? Change the podcast, I know, to business owners, like, instead of, I know, instead of serving the career community, we would serve the community that we live, eat and breathe the business owners, the entrepreneurs, the side hustlers, the CEOs that are asking for our strategies.

Well, okay, if I can be honest with you, I do tend to like more of our episodes that are talking about things that are kind of intersecting with that. So I mean, is that a?

Mary Fain Brandt: 3:01

yes, yeah.

I mean, you know, you can't be afraid of change. I'm not afraid of change, we can do it, I can do it.

Mary Fain Brandt: 3:07

Change is how we keep growing, right. I mean, and scaling, Growing and scaling. Oh my gosh. Should that be part of the new podcast name? Oh, we have to come up with a new podcast, a new logo, new topics oh my gosh. So much to do.

This is a lot of work you're signing us up for. I just want to let you know, but that's good. I think it'll be really good because I was just going through. So regularly, you know, we're going through questions that we get and it helps us come up with topics and things our audience want to listen to. And, honestly, more recently, these questions that I've been getting are because, like you said, I'm more around business owners and CEOs now, and so these are just coming up. So, like, one of the questions that I got was like I have my paper here, paper, paper. How do you, uh, how to connect with somebody online and then make them a irl or in real life connection? So that's a good question. That's important. Yeah, I was.

Mary Fain Brandt: 4:15

I was just on a call before we started recording our other episode, um, with a colleague that I met last week at an event. She works with non-profits and she's know creating this new event networking thing and she was asking me how do I get sponsorships for events, because she's known that I've done the local Phoenix and I was like, oh girl, I can, I can tell you how to go about that. I love that kind of stuff.

Laura Bashore: 4:41

So I do too, and I'm always doing events too for mine. So, yeah, we could definitely tackle that question. You know, what I get a lot of times too is when you're doing a bunch of things right and running your own business is like, how do you schedule everything on your calendar so that you don't have things overlapping? So calendaring tools, that's something we could cover. What else do you think? Oh, we could just do a whole episode on tools.

People are always asking me like what tool do you use to go live? Well, we use StreamYard, right? They're a sponsor of our podcast and all the live shows. You know how do you keep your projects organized? And I have a VA like how does she know what to do while I use ClickUp? We? Could do a whole episode on tools. You know how much I love tools. Oh my gosh, I would love to talk about tools all day.

Yeah, okay, yeah, and then a big one.

Laura Bashore: 5:40

Well, a big one that people don't talk about especially for entrepreneurs and business owners is even with some CEOs is imposter syndrome. You know imposter syndrome. I get asked on that all the time, like how do you? I've even done public speaking events around it, so, yeah, we could talk about that. Do you think people would want?

Mary Fain Brandt: 6:01

to hear this stuff? I think so. Do you think people would want to hear this stuff? I think so. I mean, if there are questions that we are both getting asked and we're having conversations with our colleagues and clients around this, right, then I don't see why not doing a podcast that serves that community, the business owners and CEOs on these topics right, wouldn't serve them. I mean, right now, and you know, like right now, the question is how can I use AI in my business, mary, but have it still sound like me. Should I use AI? What tools should I use in AI? Like that's a huge thing right now in my world every week. You know how do I use.

Laura Bashore: 6:43

AI in my business. Well, it should be as somebody who's certified in it, and I don't know if I shared this with you, but I have also committed.

Mary Fain Brandt: 6:52

So I too am about to be certified, and I love that I was telling someone today the story because you were one of my beta testers and you were like I don't really know if AI can work for me, but we're going to try it, mary. And you were like no, still still the human touch, which it does need. And then you come full circle from no, not really ai user beta test. Oh, this is pretty cool, so freaking cool. I'm going to get certified. So we're both going to be certified ai consultants. I love it. I'm so excited about that part so it really really makes sense.

Mary Fain Brandt: 7:29

Laura, for us to pivot and serve the business owners, the entrepreneurs, the business owners. That green folder, I just see money. Oh, I'm sorry. Yes.

Laura Bashore: 7:43

Well, it sounds like it, and that is definitely something that I'm thinking about. I mean, all of these things sound like strategies to scale business right.

Mary Fain Brandt: 7:53

Oh, strategies to scale business. That's good, or it's also like business growth. So remember when we were at PodFast what we learned about podcast names right, what we need to have in there. It needs to be clear and concise, right, what we need to have in there. It needs to be clear and concise. You know, fun and sassy isn't going to get it in the world of podcast seo anymore, so we don't want to make that mistake um, yes, it can't be the b show part, the part two right?

no, no b show, because that doesn't tell anyone what it is um. So you said scale up strategies, scale up, go up.

Yeah, I think. So, I think, scale up strategies and then who's it for? Right, because that's what we talked about, so it's for. It's the business growth podcast for entrepreneurs, business owners and CEOs.
